Caring for Your Candle
Your Stolen Moments candle was handcrafted to bring fragrance, warmth, and ambiance into your space. Follow these care instructions for the safest and best possible burn.
Before You Light
- Trim the wick to approximately ¼ inch before every burn.
- Remove any wick trimmings, matches, or loose debris from the wax.
- Remove loose decorative elements before lighting unless the product label specifically states otherwise.
- Place the candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts, pets, children, and flammable objects.
The First Burn
Allow the wax to melt evenly across the surface during the first burn. This helps prevent tunneling and supports a more consistent burn throughout the life of the candle.
Never burn your candle for more than four hours at a time.
During Each Burn
- Keep the candle within sight while it is burning.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings and debris.
- Do not move or touch the candle while the wax is liquid or the vessel is hot.
- Extinguish the candle if the flame becomes unusually high, flickers continuously, or produces excessive smoke. Allow it to cool, trim the wick, and check for drafts before relighting.
Extinguishing Your Candle
Use a candle snuffer when possible. If you blow out the flame, do so gently to prevent hot wax from splattering.
Allow the candle and vessel to cool completely before handling, trimming the wick, or relighting.
When to Stop Burning
Discontinue use when approximately ½ inch of wax remains at the bottom of the vessel. Burning beyond this point may cause the container to overheat.
